ROSS MCMILLAN JR.

Ross McMillan Jr; co-founder of 4M Iron, is a true Southern Gentleman through and through. As a child growing up, Ross was surrounded by agriculture, tractors, and the Lowcountry spoils. He spent his early years in a large loving family in Allendale, South Carolina. His father owned a John Deere and Massey Ferguson Agriculture Equipment Dealership that sourced SC farmers and growers across the state. Caring for locals, helping Carolina infrastructure grow is what he knows, and what he loves. The Lowcountry and South Carolina lifestyle runs in his veins.

After graduating from the University of South Carolina in 1997 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Ross started his career with Mitchell Distributing Company, a Komatsu Construction Equipment Dealer based in Charlotte, NC. He spent two years as an office manager for the sales department, growing the bottom line and working with regional salesman and clients to improve margins. With his success in sales, Ross was given a promotion to rental manager at Mitchell Rentals, a subsidiary of Mitchell Distributing in Columbia, SC where he furthered his passion and drive for construction equipment in the Southeast.

In 2001 Ross transferred to the John Deere Construction Equipment Dealer, Van Lott. With Van Lott, Ross was now managing a sales team in four upstate South Carolina counties. During this time at Van Lott with his experience and knowledge, he consistently finished near the top 5% of sales volume within the entire company.

In 2007, Ross moved on to the Martin and Martin Auctioneer Company to manage the multi-state territory that M&M presides over. He again performed as the top producer for Martin and Martin, easily booking over $30M in auction sales each year.

Using his extensive background, sales and management experience, and extensive training skills in the equipment industry, Ross founded 4M Iron in Charleston, SC in 2013. Ross truly embodies the 4M Iron company motto; “your trusted equipment partner”.

Ross currently lives in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina with his wife Brantli McMillan and two sons, Ross III and Dalton. His hobbies include fishing, hunting, golf, and of course, cheering on the USC Gamecocks.
